“We’re kicking off our fun old-fashioned Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front wheel drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols” – Clark Griswold.
Happy Holidays! It’s that time of year again where traveling is on the agenda. I think we all can agree, no matter where we are traveling to, and however long the distance may be, your auto care should be the number one priority. There’s no worse feeling than driving to your destination and your car starts acting up, or it breaks down. We’ve seen it a million times, so we want you to come to our auto body shop for a little tender loving auto care before your Holiday trips.
So many things can go wrong with your car while you’re on the road during this Holiday season. If you haven’t brought your car in for some auto care recently, there are many factors that can greatly damage your car and your Holiday trips.
Auto Care for Slick Roads
Some people haven’t adjusted to the fact that the weather has turned quite cold over the last month or so. If your Holiday car travels will be taking place in the evening or the early morning hours, the roads can become extremely slick. We’d highly recommend you bring your car into our repair shop, so we can give your car some tender loving auto care. We want you to be safe, so we’ll check your brake levels, fluid levels, tire wear, transmission functions, steering, and so much more. Your auto care and safety is our number one priority.
Rain and Wiper Blades
Another extremely important auto care factor that comes into play during the Holidays, your Wiper Blades. This is something you should always be aware of during the rainy season, but especially during the Holiday rainy season. Here are some common signs that your wiper blades need replacing.
Streaking, Screeching, and Bouncing:
Your car’s wiper blades are made to lay evenly onto your windshield and remove water and any other objects easily from the glass. The ideal purpose of this easy movement is to prevent streaks from happening. As your blades get old, worn out or warped, the more they don’t sit evenly on your windshield and it reduces their effectiveness in cleaning your windshield.
Another sign that you should replace your wiper blades before your trips this Holiday season is, screeching. When the wiper blade has outlived its lifespan, you’ll undoubtedly hear a screeching sound which is due to the rubber on your blades being warped and irregular. The screeching on your windshield can lead to scratches on your windshield which will lead to an auto care visit. And nobody wants that anytime, and especially not during the Holidays.
The bouncing of your wiper blades is another reason to replace them. If they are bouncing, it could mean the rubber is warped or uneven, or it could mean that the whole wiper arm is bent. If you’ve noticed this, please contact us so we can look at it. The last thing you need this Holiday season is for your wiper blades streaking, screeching or bouncing. This hampers your visibility while making it dangerous for you and others on the road. Please contact us so we can give your car some Holiday Auto Care.
